The American Bully is a modern breed of dog that was developed as a companion dog, and originally standardized and recognized as a breed in 2004 by the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC). Their published breed standard describes the dog as giving the "impression of great strength for its size".

The American Bully is known for its muscular build and friendly disposition. While they have a powerful appearance, they are highly social and thrive in family environments. They are excellent companions and are typically very good with children and other pets. This breed was developed with a focus on creating a sociable, stable, and loyal family pet.
