The Finnish Lapphund is a hardy, easy going, medium-size breed of Spitz type. Traditionally it has been used for herding reindeer. Although it is one of the most popular dog breeds in its native country, Finland, it is not very numerous outside of the Nordic countries.
Originally developed in the harsh climates of the Nordic region, particularly Finland.
The Finnish Lapphund is known for its friendly and gentle temperament, making it a great family dog. It is highly adaptable to various environments, although it thrives in colder climates. The breed is intelligent and quick to learn, excelling in obedience and agility competitions. Despite its thick coat, the Finnish Lapphund is relatively easy to care for with regular grooming.
